Crisanto J. Jorda

I’m not normal or consistent. I’ve never had a clear vision of my life, direction, nor values. Far from it. I’m the type of person who pictures zombie invasions on the highway, plays anagram games with street signs, and psychoanalyzes people according to their breakfast preferences. I’m an eccentric in many senses of the word.

This group being no exception, I’ve gotten involved with many random ventures. In college, I conducted a number of artistic productions for my respective college organizations. Short skits, plays, Youtube videos—name them. I’ve directed fashion shows, music videos, and even event programmes. I’ve acquired many odd jobs, as well, each vastly different from the other. So far, I’ve been a yellow-pages writer, book store clerk, video game sales associate, and digital gallery editor for the Rutgers Art History Library. Don’t ask me how. I just sort of fall into these things.

My friends call me a Renaissance Man but I’d much prefer the term “huge geek.” In college, I took 26 courses in over 16 disciplines. I’ve taught myself to proficiently use Adobe Photoshop and audio/visual software. My current music collection exceeds 12000 tracks and continues to grow. When I’m not playing guitar, piano, drawing portraits, shooting photos, nor breakdancing, I’m reading. I’m a huge pop-culture junkie who follows news articles (Newsweek, Time), blogs (TED, Tumblr), and the video game industry. Yes, I love video games.

My goal in life is to continue absorbing as much information as possible. I’d love to work a career that affords me the personal time and freedom to conduct research about many different topic. I love to draw conclusions on my own. Marketing? Writing? Publishing? Photography? Many industries fit this criteria but I’m still figuring things out. Who knows. Honestly, at this point in my life, I’m up for anything.

Why JOCC? JOCC has contributed greatly to my sense of self-discovery. I’m not just that “random smart guy” anymore but someone in a team. A group member with purpose, talents, and skills. As the months progress, I hope we learn even more about ourselves, different industries, and the values needed to really make the most of this experience called life.
